I just joined the Applied Instructional Design Academy (AIDA), a 9-month coaching program, as a way to broaden my horizons, increase my networking skills, and learn more about the training needs in industries where I haven't worked. While I have been in learning and development roles for most of my career, much of my work can't be shared due to non-disclosure agreements and I don't think the brief interactions developed as E-learning Heroes interactions appropriately showcase my instructional design background.
I'm hopeful that what I learn in AIDA over the next 9 months will not only strengthen and reinforce what I already know and do, but also will expose me to different approaches to instructional design across a wider range of industries, help me build a portfolio that shows my range of instructional design and eLearning capabilities, and help build my network of other ID and eLearning professionals. Stay tuned and I will keep you updated on what I'm learning...
