eLearning/Asynchronous Online Course
How Does the Internet Work?
This self-paced course was designed as a series of microlearning modules to help educators prepare to teach computer science standards by increasing their content knowledge about components of the internet and how they work. Each video and associated quiz questions were micro learning modules that could be completed in any order.
The course content was presented through 8 short videos that were created by Code.org. I developed all other aspects of the course, including the pre-assessment, questions to check for understanding following each video, and a final assessment, and access instructions within BlackBoard.
This course was developed using Adobe Presenter and hosted on BlackBoard LMS. Embedding the videos into a learning module with SCORM-scored understanding checks allowed educators to earn continuing education units that could be applied towards re-certification requirements after they passed the knowledge checks for each module.
